With Invisalign, the orthodontist uses clear liners which are changed out every few weeks. You can think of it as being similar to a thin night guard and they are basically hidden. The clear liners or trays are made using a mold of your mouth which will be taken at your first appointment. Typically it takes several weeks to get the first set with each following set undergoing small adjustments to gradually straighten your smile. The clear liners can be removed to eat and to brush your teeth. Most orthodontic concerns can be taken care of with Invisalign braces, however some may require metal braces. Your orthodontist will be able to determine this with an evaluation.
